WHAT WAS IT?
The holocaust was a period of time of aggressive, modern ‘scientific’ racism and hostile prejudice shown towards the Jews and many other races that didn’t fit the ARYAN RACE (A theory Hitler believed in, a generation of Germans ideally who had blonde hair & blue eyes.) This was primarily due to the acts of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis in world war two. These violent acts were interpreted to be a consequence of the great depression during the 1930s. However it was the ideology of an insanely evil madman, a theory, a poor tactic that validated immensely ferocious crime to occur. It also enabled severe discrimination towards the Jews all throughout the twentieth century and afterwards. other groups were persecuted with them such as; homosexuals, communists, socialists and jehovan's witnesses. However it was principally described to be the persecution of six million blameless Jews, who were systematically abducted from their lives by the Nazi regime over a long period of time, officially dated in 1933-1945. During 1933 the Jewish population was over nine million however by the end of 1945 there were only 3 million left - of which only 15600 got freed… WHY DID IT OCCUR? The holocaust occured because Jews were considered as 'Christ killers' in fact they were abhorred from before world war one, especially by Europeans; in 1275 they had to wear a yellow badge to be segregated and in 1287, 269 Jews were killed in the tower of London. This deep prejudice against Jews grew after the world war one as they were blamed for the defeat, and it evolved massively when the great depression hit. This was caused by hitler saying that jews were the reason of the great depression. The public already held a grudge against the jews as they were rich and well educated, which meant the great depression did not affect them as much. Although it wasn't much of jealousy that lead to such an extent of hate it was the lack of human rights and world peace at that time which caused people to get scared that communists or socialists workers might seize powers. This lead to an increase in fascism. During the 1930's most Germans were poor and unemployed and so they just wanted some one to blame all their frustrations on. The second world war gave hitler even more freedom to bring death to Jewish communities through Europe. Therefore this lead to mass destruction. It all started on the 30th of January when Adolf Hitler was appointed chancellor Probably the biggest mistake. He set in motion something that would become the Nazi genocide, an evolution no one thought would make such cruel impact. “What connection is there at all between the workers and the Jewish Problem, when in reality most of the people have no idea what this problem means.” Most people let themselves be guided by feelings and say: “I have seen good and bad people among them, just like among ourselves.” This is a direct quotation from the speech spoken by Adolf Hitler in 1920 about his anti-sematic views. It was self questioned about the doubts that may be held for others about Germans if the persecution were to take place and to abolish any positive views Germans had on the Jewish. He persuaded people that being thought of as monstrous or cruel was irrelevant and to build a nation back to how it was supposed to be, the answer was destruction. destruction of Jews. This speech was one tactic of getting the thought across. The Nazis also made pamphlets which gave negative information about the Jews making fun of their religion and appearance. If you were a Jew you were labelled as selfish and arrogant- however this was pure irony as it was the general public blaming a race for economic and land destruction. They would also educate students in classes to create an abhor for Jews at a young age. an example of this would be when children were studying they would be given questions like "if there were four Jews and 3 got killed, how many would be left?" This was sponsored and violence was promoted at a very young age in the world that used to be. the murdering... In the beginning there were Ghetto camps which the Jews got placed in, it was like a pison and no one could come out or go in and the conditions vere extremely harsh. later on they got transported to concentration camps in which Jews were transported by trucks to. this transportation could take days in which they were thrown water on and given stale bread to eat. Concentration camps were held to commence un-sophisticated scientific research on the Jews. Jews were likely to die at concentration camps as the conditions were appalling and they would conduct violent experiments on twins especially. this was due to the fact that Adolf Hitler wanted to know what made people have twins so that the Aryan race can grow quickly and the Jewish one can decrease. this was obviously unsuccessful. Experiments were usually lead by Dr. Joseph Mangele. twins were especially segregated in Auschwitz. Jews that were disabled mentally or physically, or very young or old or incapable of hard labour it was likely you got transported to death camps. In death camps jews women were shot, or families were told to calm down (no one knew they were facing death at the beginning) and then they were told to strip down all their possessions and enter a room where they were told they were getting a shower however they would inhale a toxic gas which would poison them until their last breath. if their were survivors they would've been shot. after death the Nazis cut of the Jews' hair and teeth as they had gold plates. They would make things such as clothes off the hair. in 1943 when the number of murdered exceded 2 million Nazi's ordered the bodies of those buried to be dug out and to destroy all the traces. Jews were given the star of david which labelled as 'Jew'. Not only this but they would also burn their buildings and attack them on streets, persecuted openly. |
